Sally light foot crabs, Percnon gibbesi  are a very popular crab for detritus removal and for algae removal.  They don't necessarily attack bubble algae like the mithrax crabs do, but they will attack all the other nuisance algae and will quickly get even the biggest algae problem under control.  They frequently live in pairs in the wild and although we don't sell mated pairs, we can sell male or female crabs and they will likely breed and release larvae on a regular basis.

 

These are not an aggressive type of crab and can safely be kept with most other crabs, fish and invertebrates.  They may try to catch weak or sick fish, or small shrimp, but will not bother healthy ones.  They are easy to feed and will eat almost any kind of food that they find on the bottom.  The average size that we sell has a carapace width of about an inch, and they can grow up to about twice that size (2"").
